SHAKESPEARE'S LOST MASTERPIECE

2019 NJACT PERRY AWARD WINNER - OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL PLAY

An Officer and a... DJ?

The Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center held their very first One-Act-Festival this past weekend at the duCret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ, showcasing short plays from New Jersey playwrights. I performed as an old school DJ in Extended Play by Benjamin Marshall, and as a general in Selected Service by Steven Patrick.

The festival also featured directorial debuts of Dragonfly alums Matthew Holbert (Selected Service), Shauni Ramai (Extended Play) and Noah J. Stanzione (I Forgot to Worry, written by Lawrence Paone), all of whom blossomed at their respected helms. The fourth play, Slightly Off, was written and directed by Dragonfly's Artistic Director Catherine LaMoreaux.

The three day event was a success with great crowds for every show who were very receptive to the performances. A great jumping off point for Dragonfly, which can only get better from here as the festival evolves.
