SHAKESPEARE'S LOST MASTERPIECE

2019 NJACT PERRY AWARD WINNER - OUTSTANDING ORIGINAL PLAY

A Monumental Moment For Villagers and Myself

In what will be the first ever All-Black cast production ever to perform at the Villager's Theatre, I am making my return to Somerset, NJ this January in what will be my biggest role to date, playing Troy Maxon in August Wilson's Pulitzer winning drama Fences.

This sensational drama starred James Earl Jones on Broadway as Troy, a former star of the negro leagues who now works as a garbage man in 1957 Pittsburgh. Excluded as a Black man from the major leagues during his prime, Troy's bitterness takes its toll on his relationships with his wife and son, who now wants his own chance to play ball. Revived in 2010 starring Denzel Washington in the lead role. It is my goal to to it the justice that these two giants have.

There will be six shows in the Black Box (aka The Zaidi Theatre) Jan 15-24. Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm & Sundays at 2pm. You can reserve tickets now here.
