We Took Their Breath Away

Breathless made its NYC debut today at UnionDocs in Brooklyn, not far from where it was shot in January. Anaiis Cisco's re-enactment of the murder of Eric Garner held the viewers spellbound, amazed at what an impact a seven minute short film can have. The audience left pleased with Cisco's portrayal of Garner the man, a far cry from the monster he has been portrayed to be in the media. Even more amazing when you figure she put the cast together from 3,000 miles away as a student at San Francisco State University, and was knocked out in a two day weekend shoot on the coldest day of the year after a Thursday night read-through. Next stop for Breathless, the Film Festival circuit. All the best to Anaiis, and kudos to my fellow castmates and the entire crew.
