Live theatre returns to the Middletown Arts Center, as I will be playing the iconic role of Paul Robeson in Ed Schmidt's play Mister Rickey Calls A Meeting, presented by Dunbar Repertory Company. A fictitious story of Dodger General Manager Branch Rickey calling upon three high profile figures of the Negro community, Robeson, Joe Lewis, and Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson, to discuss a strategy for dropping a baseball bombshell; promoting a Black ballplayer, the one and only Jackie Robinson, to the Major Leagues. COVID restrictions has pushed back this production, directed by Mark Henderson, a couple of times, but it is finally going up October 15th to 17th; two evening performances, Friday & Saturday at 8p, and matinee's Saturday at 3p and Sunday at 4p. The Middletown Arts Center is at 36 Church Street, Middletown NJ. Check their website middletownarts.org for ticket information, or call them at (732) 706-4100
